The lady that greeted us at bus stop #6 was the sweetest lady. Keep her!!!! The day was a beautiful day to take the tour. We will definitely do this again.
Downloaded both headhout and bus tracking apps. These were convenient and easy to use. I loved the full loop first thing in the morning- great overview of NOLA and then I explored the rest of the day. The bus was easy to get to and I enjoyed hearing other tour guide's interpretations. Two thumbs up!
The bus tour was a great way to see some significant areas of New Orleans. The first bus I was on had a problem, so everyone was transferred to another, much more crowded bus. While the announcer was entertaining, it wasn't always clear which building he was talking about as the bus rushed past.
Each guide was a very entertaining and informative storyteller. Learned so many fun facts about New Orleans that showed the citiries true personality. Got lots of good recommendations. Stops were convenient and easy to find
Ticketing was fine. Some guides seemed to know much more, or at least shared more than others. Route and stops were mostly great. One thing: There should be better coordination between Mardi Grass World and you. I understand you are separate businesses; but I walk with a cane and Hop-Off at a hotel where Mardi Gras World picks up and drops off would be a better plan. Also a little unclear how to get onto bus to begin with. A little more reach out to Garden District hotels would make things a little clearer. I stayed at Grenoble House, Rue Dauphine (fabulous!), but they knew nothing about you.
The layout of the Map is nearly perfect. A Second, further out, Tour would cover the entirety of this Historic city. I cannot recommend this Tour enough; especially with Ellen's informative narrative.
I could not locate the barcode on my head out receipt. It kept wanting me to download the readout app. I downloaded the app but it would not open. The hop on hop off worker saw my confirmation and let us on the bus with that. We loved the tour.
Ellen was very friendly, knowledgeable, and entertaining. Asia was a great driver in the crazy traffic . I was very impressed with her skills.
Driver was funny know his stuff. You need to fit the sound system it was very hard to hear at times. Speaker broke up words.
We stayed on the tour all 90 minutes and learned so much about the hystory of New Orleans. It was very interesting. Thanks! We did not take pictures, we didn't want to miss anything.
The parts that I heard were good. But the sound is terrible. I could barely hear what the guides was telling. If there would be speakers or working speakers in a few placesthroughout the 2nd level, it would be great.
Linda was an exceptional guide on the New Orleans Hop-On Hop-Off bus tour. Being a native, she was incredibly knowledgeable and witty, making each of the 19 stops interesting with great insights on different places to visit. She truly knew her stuff. However, after the break, our guide switched to either Sam or Mike, who read from a phone and lacked the same engaging delivery. He could benefit from sitting with Linda or receiving more training to improve his presentation. It was super easy to book online and find stops (look for the red signs). Side note: I would recommend incorporating stop location details into the booking process, as we had to search for them after purchasing the tickets.
The guides on the route. We had 3 different ones. Got some of the same stories, but some had different info. It was great. Wish I had more time this trip.
The main issue was not knowing exactly where the stops were located. The map only gave a general idea, so finding the signs was a bit of a scavenger hunt. The buses were cramped, and the A/C was spotty... sometimes it was working, sometimes not. When the heat index is around 112, A/C is definitely needed!
Chris was our guide. Miss Shaun was our driver. This was our first time in New Orleans. Chris made this trip an unbelievable experience. He knew so much history about the city dating back to the 1700's. His humor was infectious. He had everyone laughing and smiling the entire time. He interacted with so many people. We've taken these tour buses in multiple cities around the country and he is one of the best. Please tell him the people from Ohio loved him so.
Comprehensive tour with good stops. June was a fountain of knowledge and very enthusiastic telling us about her favourite subject, New Orleans!
We loved the idea of hoping on a bus, getting a tour of some key locations bring entertained as well as informed. We will be telling everyone not familiar..
Overall experience was great. Ticketing in the kiosk next to Jackson Square was considrably more expensive than ticketing on line
All fine. Booking online easy. Tour perfect. I always do hop on hop off in new cities to get to know the areas I want to go back. Very good route. Not too long or short with 90min.
There were so many spots that we wanted to hit while we were visiting that we knew we wouldn't have time for so we actually bought hop on/hop off tickets our last day in town so we could try to see as much as we could. Also, I was traveling with my 74 year old mother so we thought this was a good way to get around. It worked out perfectly and our guides Linda and Mary were both excellent. Both NOLA natives and full of interesting knowledge. I would even recommend a 2 or 3 day pass as it made it so easy to get around to all the popular spots in the city. Will definitely do that next time.
The tour it was very good however the ticketing experience was not good. I bought the tickets thru Internet and I did not a choice to indicate my "Senior" status.
Really enjoyed the tour. We booked on line which was really straightforward. We loved the fact that if you download the app it will give you a detailed map and also lets you know the time of the next bus at the relevant stops.
Buses were nice and comfortable. Sound was good from the narrator. Just did not like that some sights closed at a certain time which was not listed in the tour pamphlet which we were then unable to see some sights on our tour.
The NOLA tour was amazing! The tour time of 90 minutes was perfect (because I sat up top in the sun). The guide was funny and insightful. I was in town for a business conference and did not have time to hop on/hop off, but it was an enjoyable trip to see a lot of the city.
Bill was amazing. This was my 2nd time taking the tour and it was like a brand new tour. He recommended free and affordable things we could do, gave us so much history on the city and he even remembered us later that day when we hopped back on the bus.
