My husband and I purchased the 72 hour pass and were quite happy with the comprehensive routes. We didn't have to wait long to "hop on" at any of the conveniently located stops. The only aspect we didn't care for was 1 driver in the green route and 1 driver on the red route blasted their personal music. It was loud enough that it overshadowed the commentary we were trying to listen to on our earbuds.
Today, on the Castelo line, he didn't stop at stops 10 and 11 at lunchtime (just because I was late?). I stayed on the bus to go to Castelo again and on this second trip the driver cursed at another driver of a van who didn't want to give him a seat; there was a scuffle and loudly he said "son of a ...". This can't happen!!! Drivers have to be better trained to withstand the stress of traffic!

Having to go to the office after buying on-line tickets is inconvenient. Too many of the plugs on the busses didn't work, and the volume was too low to understand a lot of what was said.
i bought it on the internet and only the castle itinerary appeared. when i got to the exchange desk it wasn't the itinerary we wanted. but the reception was cordial and we paid the difference and went on 2 tours.

One of the people validating the ticket didn't give me enough information. I had to insist on asking to understand how the tour worked. She didn't bother to spend a few minutes explaining what I was entitled to on the tour. The city is very crowded in spring and some routes would have to have more frequent buses. The audio guide for some of the seats didn't work and it was repetitive to hear the same information as the route passed through the same streets several times. Overall, the tour was very comfortable and practical. The drivers were friendly.

Bad point: no electronic ticketing, so you lose them and have to buy them again, and you have to start the tour at point 1 to collect the ticket from the agency, which means a long wait for the bus in the sun. Why choose this tour operator? It's the only one to offer a ticket valid for 48 hours at an acceptable price.

The driver on the Orange line isnt fit to drive People around. He was doing 70 km/h where he was only allowed to drive 50. He was tailgaiting, driving dangerousley, ignored stopsigns, skipped stops, honking at other drivers, skipped a red sign. The audio tour on the Orange line was really hard to follow because of the noise it was making. Everybody on the bus had red headphones to listen to the tour, but we didn't.
Great drivers and tour. My only regret was that it was a small bus and not a double-decker for the route I took.

I have put good to put something because we could not enter to see the castle as we had to return to Spain for an emergency so we did not visit Sintra.

Castle was wonderfull. I m from Slovakia and I had realy nice experience from a trip to Sintra.I will only recomend to my friends to visit Portugual next time.😉🤗!
No issues at all. Arrived and it was a quick walk up the hill, maybe 15 mins and then had time for a coffee before our entrance time. Great experience!
An incredible experience, from start to finish. Starting at the palace and ending in the park. You can spend a whole day here discovering all the trails that extend throughout the park, nature at its best.

Palacio da Pena, very nice but the way to walk to the top is horrible. Better to park the car and take a cab or tuctuc. Quinta da Regaleira is also worth a visit. Very nice all around. For me the worst thing is the private cars that you don't know where to park them.

Rich in culture and vast enough to explore at my leisure. However some parts of the park weren't clearly sign posted. This makes a difference when you're a bit tired. You wouldn't want to be going in the wrong direction at that point 😀
ticketing was easy. It's a beautiful place to visit inside and out. While the park was beautiful, even in early November, we struggled to get back to the 'exit' or bus stop because the signage and maps weren't really in sync so it took a lot longer than we wanted and we often came to intersections, whether on a trail or on a park 'road' and we couldn't figure out which way to go. And in finding what looked like a landmark...a fountain or pond, we couldn't find it on the map we were were referencing on our phone.
Unfortunately, being a rainy day with a lot of fog, we were not able to see the outside beauty but only the inside

2 must-see historic sites in Sintra .... Too bad the sun wasn't out... and the shuttle bus fare was excessive at €4.50 one way (there's no such thing as a return ticket); we found the Pena park badly signposted (we got a bit lost) ...

The venue was wall-to-wall people. I felt like I was in a cattle drive. You moved a few inches and then wait a few more inches and then wait. The buildings were beautiful, but it was way too crowded.
The timed tickets are stressful as it doesn't start at the gate but a 10 minute hike from the gate and everyone starts lining up half an hour early. Unfortunately we didn't know this and almost weren't let in but the security made the exception and I'm so glad he did because the palace is absolutely incredible! Best part of the whole Lisbon trip
It is a beautiful architectural site with much history. Unfortunately, there were multiple large areas of the palace being renovated and rooms we were unable to see.
We like the rooms we visited in the castle and all the interesting artifacts displayed. The Views from the terrace were amazing The booking process was easy however we did not appeciate how long it wodul take ot get to the Palace from the centre of Sintra. Luckily we got there in time but you could easier get caught out and miss your time slot.
For tourists should be clear that the ticket doesn't include the entrance to the Palace. We had to pay €10 more per person at the gate to enter the Palace. The title "PENA PALACE & PARK TICKETS" is misleading. Thanks for your understanding. I hope no more tourists get into this trap.
It was pretty. But it seems Portugal has not come to terms with their history. Calling colonies territories is less than honest and claiming that all the wealth is from tax onnpepper corns- not mention of the slave trade- is uniquely dishonest
The palace architecture, bright colors, design, decor, historical significance, location ...at the end of a very beautiful hike
I liked the Moorish Castle, but I found the Pena Palace very poorly maintained, with dirty toilets and no hygiene items in general. The access roads also need to be better signposted. Many visitors, like me and my wife, got lost or had great difficulty locating certain destinations, including the exit.

Spectacular palace to visit. They are certainly working hard to keep it in good repair. It looks beautiful. Loved our walk through the gardens as well.
Head out experience was easy to use. The oena palace we arrived on a very wet day. Even though the weather wasn't great the palace was something to see
The way to go in. You lose your patience on the traffic to the place. The solution is shuttles from the bottom of the mountain to the palace, and no private vehicle will go up, this will also make it easier for the villagers who live in the area.
Being in a very well preserved historic place. With my husband we had a problem with mobilization and they let us into the palace anyway, about an hour later than booked.

We were very impressed with the Pina Palace and the Quinta da Regaleira. Everything was very interesting but we did find that there were enough indications at the Quinta da Regaleira though. We kept going around in circles trying to find the palace. We had to ask how to find it.
The Palace is very tired and some of the furniture is 1970's not 1700. Getting from the train to the palace was ill informed and buses below hawking to sell tickets that were 300% than a taxi.
The palace is beautiful and well kept. Some of the signage and communication was a bit confusing. I would have appreciated an audio tour, but somehow missed that option.
