A lot of waiting - timetables listed were not adheared to, which required us to spend a lot of money on an uber from the Asia side to get back rather than wait in the side of the road for one hour. The mentioned boat tour that was included did not exist. Otherwise the tour audio and ride was pleasant.
Certainly an easy and relaxing way to discover Istanbul, with many of the main sites covered through the extensive drop off points. The audio guide which was both informative and interesting, gave deeper insights into each region Would highly recommend.
It was a good way to see and learn about the main sites. Traffic was very busy, so the route took a long time, and sometimes seemed to stop for quite a while at the different stops.
The bus ride was ok, average. Nothing exciting. I was staying at the Novotel hotel, right near bus stop 4 yet I felt that I had to go to the joining point to pick up the first bus of the day (40 mins walk). I couldn't see the various hop on hop off points on any of the information about the bus. The second issue I had was with the boat ride. Only 2 per day, if you go on the 10:00 bus, you miss the connection for the 12:00 boat and you have to wait until 16:00 for the second boat. I honestly believed that there would be more frequent boats. The staff at the joining bus stop in the square were very unhelpful when I asked about the boat - it's a different company but as a customer - we buy a combined package. There are other boat companies which are cheaper and offer more flexibility- we live and learn.
Worked wonderfully, frequency of 45 min or longer (traffic jam) is a bit long, great driver, pays off in any case to get a first good overview of Istanbul, 1 day is enough, all sights are also easily accessible by streetcar and bus

Hi! We really enjoyed the experience, the only bad thing is that in several places the Spanish channel was not working, I wish they would check it.

I liked it overall, a bit more recommendations what to do at the single stops would be helpful though. Otherwise a good way to explore the city!
Very practical and with a great tour. However, avoid the last departure as this is the time of very heavy traffic.

It was always on time and busses were clean. The staff needs training; not all customers speak English and also are not familiar with the city so a little but of patience when answering questions will be much appreciated by all.
Absolutely amazing tour. Saw everything. The best part was the river cruise loved it.. I will be booking more for izmir and anatalya...thank u
The experience was great but we made the mistake of not booking a day earlier and taking advantage of the full 24 hours of the pass. We booked on our last full day in Istanbul and consequently our experience turned out to basically be a long bus ride. We're glad we did it though because we saw sights we otherwise wouldn't have seen and learned things from the fairly detailed audio guide. After we got off, we retraced parts of the ride that caught our eye and discovered wonderful sights and neighborhoods in the process. The online ordering experience was a breeze and finding the departure point was surprisingly easy. Istanbul is a wonderfully chaotic and complicated city, easy to get lost in. We fully expected to have a hard time finding the bus, but no, an easy short walk from the tram stop and we were there. The onboarding process was easy, efficient and professional. Our only complaint is they didn't retract the roof of the bus, which would have made the sights really pop and, of course, made it easier to take pictures. Also, be warned, Istanbul traffic is like New York rush hour traffic all day every day. All in all we enjoyed the experience and were glad we did it. If you're in Istanbul, take the bus ride, it's worth it.
Most of the visitation took place in traffic with considerable delay on the route such that the audio guide was considerably ahead of what we were actually seeing.

I think the idea of hop on hop off buses is great. Istanbul is actually a very congested inner city, so you are on the road for a long time and it can be exhausting. The tour is interesting and the audio guides are well spoken in all languages and worth listening to. It was great to drive across the Bosphorus and experience the sights. It's also great to get off and continue. The price is justified in my opinion.

My Hip on hop off ticket says optional ticket to Topkapi Palace. But manager did not show up on time and just sent a message thru another person that we can get the those tickets in Topkapi cafe. To make the story short nobody gives us a tickets.
Skip the line mentioned can be misleading. there are two queues and we did not skip the line of the entrance, on the one to but the tickets.
Hop on hop off buses run infrequently. A round trip takes 2.5 hours. The trip looks like standing in a traffic jam. It was hot in the bus. Not much information from the audio guide. It's all about listening to music. The tickets for the museum came without a code for the audio guide. I could not do anything with it on the spot.
The traffic was bad and therefore the tme between attractions seemed interminable. 40 mins between buses is too long. The audio guide was difficult to hear particularly above the noise of the traffic. And it was not clear from the guide what I was meant to be looking at. " ....on your right..." etc . Finally at €40 per head I didn't think it was value. Sorry but I couldn't recommend you.
Loved that we rode into Asia Very nice to see all major sights in a few hours Worth it as on your own with the traffic would be impossible
The information about where to get tickets and where to start indicated that it would be at a stand in Sultanhamet Square. On the day we booked, the square was closed and there was no stand. It was only afterwards that we realized that the bus didn't stop there and that we could actually get on at any other bus stop

He options offered for the dissatisfaction are way too short and do not include a lot of things. For instance, I have been told the tour lasts for 2.5 hours a roundtrip, but might be a bit longer due to traffic. The trip from Taksim to Naval museum (which is half the tour) lasted for 2.5 hours! Basically the whole trip might have been close to 5 hours. I could not enjoy it due to the timing of the flight 😔
The place where the ticket could be picked up is an illogical place in Istanbul. Logical would be if it were in the port near the ferries

A great way to see some of Istanbuls hilites. Be prepared for long waits in the traffic. The passengers would have benefited from announcements on how long we would be waiting at each stop. That would have given us time to jump off and grab a bottle of water or such.
The staff were helpful. Information clear including timetables. The route covered all the areas we wanted to see. Only comment is that when the bus is full you cant always get to plug in for the commentary which is a big part of why we did the tour so that we can learn the history.
the tour went to places that were not very exciting. waited a long time until bus started > 30 min. + tour as such was good organized

It was a good way to see and learn about the main sites. Traffic was very busy, so the route took a long time, and sometimes seemed to stop for quite a while at the different stops.
We were not advised to take headphones with us. So we could only turn our cell phones down and couldn't hear everything

The skip-tail ticket allowed us faster access to Hagia Sophia or given the tight schedule we would have had to postpone. The 'audio guide not very exhaustive and not very fluent (the division between Ottoman and Byzantine route makes the visit not very easy). Also the non-specific identification of landmarks in the ground floor room or tour floor. The visit thus limited to the first floor makes the 'experience incomplete. The mosque, however, is splendid.
View original review in Italian
Still had to queue despite 'skip the queue' tickets. This description is misleading. If there are instructions on the tickets as to how to get the free audio guide they are pretty well hidden.
It was fast and evidently the place is amazing. I had been before, but never at the top. I was able to see up close and learn about the hidden Christian, Byzantine paintings. It really is amazing to be able to appreciate something so old with so much history.

The place is magnificent but you can only access the upper galleries if you are not Muslim. This is something that should have been warned before the visit.

It is a must see, 20 yr ago you bog stand down in the dome, unfortunately could not anymore. But the idea that this is already so old, incredible!
View original review in Dutch
It was a mosque and previously was a church. Certainly memorable to see the magnificent strucrture and the decorations and the historical depections of Christianity maintained at certain parts of the mosque thus respecting history.
The history of this place of worship is immensely interesting. Byzantine church, mosque, museum and again mosque. Pity is what has been lost from Byzantine times.

The experience was very good, but they're not really wire-cut tickets. We had to wait a very long time and I'm handicapped. Afterwards, however, we were able to move faster than those without tickets.

It was a beautiful experience! We entered immediately with the skip the line ticket! I didn't use the audio guide because I didn't know how to install it, but it's not necessary, Hagia Sofia speaks for itself! Andreea 💋 xoxo
We liked the ease of the skip the line. That was handy. I downloaded the audio guide (all 39 sections) but could play no more than 21 of them....with no explanation as to why? Was my ticket also good for something else? Again, no explanation.
Skip the line you pay more, which is ok. Then you have to go back in that hugh line which took any other 45 mins. Now that is not good experience as you are charging more to skip the line. Not mentioning that the line to get inside which you want to skip, you can't. Not a good experience.

I recommend visiting the site at 6pm due to less crowds.. There are long lines in the morning and afternoon. There are two lines one to buy tickets and the second line is to enter the site. Buying a ticket with Headout allows you to skip the buying the ticket line but no the t entry line.
Great museum. Purchase online saved tons of standing time at ticket booth. Good communication post purchase on how to access tickets for entry.
With the online ticket, you can avoid the queue at the ticket office, which is certainly 60m long. You can't bypass the security check, but the queue moves quite quickly. We were only able to visit the second floor of Hagia Sophia, the prayer room downstairs was only open to locals. Nevertheless, it felt like a lot to pay the entrance fee (€33.50) for 15 minutes. Women have to wear headscarves and have their shoulders covered, men have to wear long pants.
View original review in German
It is worth some extra to pay to skip the ticket line albeit I think the fee charged by this service somewhat exorbitant.
I got in without waiting in line; and because I went early; obviously the Headout payment is higher than the ticket sold at the box office for €7.00.

Skip-the-line ticket worked great. Audio guide software was glitchy. There is free public wifi inside Hagia Sophia, so the audio guide loaded after about seven minutes... but kept needing to restart. "View ticket without internet in the app" did not work for me.

The Citernes are worth visiting. However, it is recommended that you take an audio guide. Or visit the Citernes with a guide. In just under an hour you can visit the Citernes.

When I saw the line of people waiting to buy tickets, I thought, "Oh no! This is going to take a long time". Then I saw the online opportunity on a sign. The online tickets were easy to buy because your e-commerce design was very simple. In just a few minutes, I walked right past the line to the entrance and showed them the e-ticket on my phone. I was in! I'd recommend this to everyone.
The Skip the Line ticket was great, but we did get there early, when the doors opened and it felt like we had the site to ourselves. Ticket purcahse was a seamless efficient service!

The App was easy to download and was quick and easy to use. I was able to skip the long line and go right to the front and get in by showing my QR code. Highly recommend.
I truly enjoyed my experience. I did think the pricing was a little high, but I would absolutely do this again. For me it's the history. Some of the things I saw were left over materials. Nothing significant about a head turned sideways other then it's was a leftover material. There were information boards, I loved the decorative lighting and art work. It was nice. I had skip the line tickets, so I'm glad I didn't have to waste a lot of time standing in a long line. I'll get the audioguide next t time. I spent about 45 minutes here. You have to walk down stairs to get to the cistern and then walk up stairs to leave. The routing is very organized. I recommend taking it all in.
They were the right tickets for admission. So the correct WR CODE, without having to stop off somewhere to get a voucher. That was very, very convenient. And that's how it should be... not like some things with the MEGAPASS ...

What I loved the most was the lighting and how the art pieces were arranged and put together like almost creating a story. Also, about headout, it was very simple to get the tickets and we received straight simple directions on how to benefit of the purchase. Thank you!
this is a must see when in Istanbul. It's cool how they built such an increadible underground structure hundreds of years ago. Using the Skip the line, made it perfect as there is a HUGE line and you really walk by them all and just go in. Don't think i'll ever wait in line if I can find one of these skip the line options online.
Very interesting and imposing ancient building and good for great photos. Thanks to the slightly more expensive tickets, there is no endless queue at the entrance. In short: a must-see spot in Istanbul for those who haven't been there yet. And if you don't want to spend 45 minutes waiting in the blazing sun, the small surcharge for the tickets is fine.

I had a difficulty because my Iphone was out of battery whenwe arrived, and I only has the QR on my Iphone. I had to explain this to a girl who helped me with finding a charger, and turning on my phone, to get them. It was magical, to find someone that saved us from the possibility of not being able to enter the Galata Tower for the Sunset. This was our last day in Istanbul. I regret not knowing her name, she was an extraordinary sweet and special girl.

I highly recommend buying headout tickets to skip the ticket buying stuff. For the galata tower you have to wait in line a bit even though you have the ticket already purchased, but it is the line needed to take the elevator . . And it is really worth it. Exactly the same procedure as in any other city. The audio guide should include a bit more information, you're bound to have classical music in your ears for 70% of the journey. One or two hours longer travel times would also be nice. Until 16:00 is not a gigantic amount of time.

Great tour to get your bearings. Buying tickets online was a nightmare as I couldn't access the QR code without internet ( despite downloading the Headout app) . It would have been easier to pay at the bus stop!
Great way to see and hear about the city! Good tour information. Easy to book. Nice vehicle. Highly recommend for those who want to get a good feel for the whole city in a short time.
I felt that the recorded audio stream should have contained much more information. So much historical information should have been included. There were many times along the route where there was only music playing, no information.
It was an acceptable way to see several parts of the city. Don't know why they just don't send you tickets straight away. You have to see someone to exchange email tickets for QR tix. Audio guide is not great.
Bus ran approx. every 45 minutes, very good and detailed description of the attractions (however, you could not hear the information about the station where you wanted to get off, otherwise you would have missed the exit), possibility to charge your cell phone on the way.
