We had the bad luck of a strike for the pu lic transport but it was still pretty good. I would only wish for thebus driver to even take People standing for those who just want to go for 1-2 stops. Had to wait for 3 buses to be picked cause they were full :( în this way, a lot of Time is lost waiting for the next bus.

It smooth and seamless booking with Headout. We had a good time on the bus, pity about the weather that didn't play it's part. It was a great for us wanting to see most of Barcelona and not having to travel on foot or by public transport. See y'all in the summer of 2025.

Both routes through Barcelona are well worth seeing. If you can only do one and can't get off, e.g. on a cruise, I would recommend the orange route. You will see fantastic house facades and also have a great view of the harbor and Barcelona from above. The green route is particularly suitable if you want to visit the Sagrada Familia and Park Güell. Make sure you book your tickets for these sights a few days in advance! Do the park first at lunchtime and the cathedral in the afternoon, or better still, spread it over two days. I visited the cathedral separately and combined the park with the bus. It's better if you have two days. and

The park is beautifully laid out and you have a great view over Barcelona. The Gaudi bench, the houses, the gecko and the ceiling mosaics are simply worth seeing. If you are in Barcelona, you should stop by here.

Easy to purchase tickets online. Many stops along the route. Having the headphones so we could learn about various sites, landmarks and history was helpful. What I didn't like was finding one of the bus stops had a notice on it stating not in operation from 5pm. This information should have been made available to us by email or on the site.

A very convenient way to get around the city and see it all. You get both red and blue lines which covers everything, and you never have to wait for the bus more than 10 minutes. We were the move all the time! Provides headphones and nice info about the places you pass, very friendly staff. Your time on the pass start from the first time you use it, so if you hop on at 12, you can hop on until 12 the following day for the 24h pass so it could basically give you two days if you use it smart!

The tours on offer are comprehensive enough to give you an overall view. The day rate, which allows you to hop on and off and also take the other tours, is very attractive. However, there was a slight downside: the drivers drove quite fast (was this due to the absence of traffic jams on this December 26 holiday?), which cut off the spoken commentary in the headphones, so the end of the explanations about the place concerned was regularly missing). It was also somewhat incomprehensible that the drivers had to take 10-minute breaks (in front of the santagloria café for the blue line, and at the port for the red line). From my point of view, the speed of the buses is too fast, which creates a discrepancy between the comment and the place that is supposed to correspond. Often the comment was heard after passing the location, and sometimes it was heard long before arriving at the location. There may be room for improvement here. Other than that, it was fine.

Did the red and blue tour completely, great bus, great audio accompaniment! The IT system went on strike in the morning, but I was able to travel with an online voucher without any problems... I received my ticket after the first tour without any problems. All in all, a great way to get to know Barcelona comfortably in 4 hours or to go into detail at the individual stops from 9am to 7pm.

If you take both routes (red and blue), you can see the city's most beautiful sights without having to walk long distances. Unfortunately, a few routes had to be shortened due to roadworks, so that you couldn't see the Sagrada Familia from 3 sides, for example, but only the front/the main portal. Also Parc Güell could not be visited due to road works.

It's great to tour the city like this when you only have a day. A little more info at sights that are sold out would be nice. For example, Parc Guell. Quite a long climb and then get to the closed door. Will cost you an hour anyway.

it was awesome having one mode of transportation to get to all the good spots. But! quite a few of the attractions we stopped at were completly sold out so it was useless for us to get off there, and we didn't realize we needed to rebook tickets. it would be helpful to know which attractions should be pre booked to avoid getting off and making our way all the way to the attraction just to get turned down.

Saw the most important sights. Didn't have to wait long for the next bus. Had booked a 48 hour ticket, on the first day the Olympic Stadium was not served, which we noticed on the second day as we drove the route again and were suddenly standing in front of it. The organizers could have mentioned that FC Barcelona had a game that day and that was the reason. If we hadn't booked 2 days, we wouldn't have seen this attraction.

Wonderful park unique in its kind and style, a must see if you visit Barcelona. Too bad about the audio guide that I could not fully exploit as there is a very bad internet connection in the area. In any case you can improve the guide and make it more descriptive as the park deserves a lot. The only aspect I did not like about the park is that the museum-home of Gaudi inside it has a separate cost and is not included. If it helps, arriving by subway to the park involves a big climb to walk up and the escalators at this time were not all working.

It's better if you have two days. and

Quick entry into the park. Take the uppermost entry. It means less stairs and most of the visit is downhill. We made the mistake of taking the lower entry and walked multitudes of stairs to get to the top. The park itself is beautiful. Tends to be very busy with tourists, but never felt crowded. It will take you about 1-1.5 hours to visit. Enjoy! Definitely a must see in Barcelona.

It's been a few years since I last visited. It's gone through some big changes. Mainly The new play areas for children and obviously increased security and payment system. There seems to be more information about the Parks History and I left with a greater appreciation of the Park as a whole and even when it seems heaving with tourists you can still find many pockets of quiet peacefullness to appreciate what a gem the park is!

the park is an open-air monument, one can savor it without the limitations of traditional museums while admiring the artist's flair and creativity. It allows visitors to relax even on a muggy, sweltering day, with sheltered areas and green spaces that still allow them to appreciate the elaborate structure of the complex. I have been there three times and would be willing to go back...recommended for those who love art and visionary flair reserved only for a brave few who had the courage to achieve what was madness for others. unique!!!

The square, the paths, the "balconies", the staircase, the columns, the cleanliness of the place except for the toilets - no paper and not clean, too little for the number of people there.

We enjoyed exploring Parc Güell. All Gaudi's creations are fabulous. One drawback: the direction of the tour is not clear, and we didn't get to see the dragon up close... In fact, we could have walked all the way back to find the right itinerary, but given the heat, we couldn't. We were at the end of our rope... We were only about ten steps from it, but it's forbidden to go back up the stairs... the guards are watching.

Lovely guide. Lots of new information since our last visit 7 years ago. A great starter before we explored on our own. The light was fabulous, so atmospheric it brought a lump to my throat. Not a religious person but the skill and beauty of the architecture was stunning.

I used the headout resource to buy tickets for the Sagrada Familia and Parc Güell combo. Everything was organized perfectly, after payment I received tickets to the park immediately. The instructions for meeting the guide at the entrance to Sagrada Familia were clear and understandable. And you can always read them again in the app. The guide was knowledgeable, spoke English, and told interesting stories.

It's better if you have two days. and

Breathtaking Basilica.....no words can describe it. In addition to the amazing architecture and stained glass glowing colors, the tour was perfect!! Meeting place was accurate, tour was on time and we were able to go right into the Basilica without waiting in line. The short tour explaining the architecture and plans was very interesting. Even though the group was offered the option to leave the tour and explore everyone waited until the very end before exploring independently. I highly recommend it!

All was perfect. Due to the Barcelona marathon, and pre-purchased attraction tickets, we were unable to use the bus on the day, but the helpful staff told us we could use our tickets the next day. We enjoyed the ride, getting off at lovely places and getting back on the bus.

Lovely guide. Lots of new information since our last visit 7 years ago. A great starter before we explored on our own. The light was fabulous, so atmospheric it brought a lump to my throat. Not a religious person but the skill and beauty of the architecture was stunning.

We liked our guide, she taught us precious information. I think I understand better now the meaning of Sagrada Familia and what a genius man was Gaudi. It was a nice experience!

The meeting point was clearly described and easy to find. Our tour guide (Olga) was already waiting on site and could not be overlooked. She was very friendly and easy to understand during the tour. We started at the Sagrada Familia and I was impressed by the tour and the details of the church. Olga was also very enthusiastic and you could tell immediately. I would have liked to have had a bit more time there, but we had to take a cab to Park Guell relatively soon. Personally, I would probably do the tour the other way round next time, but I was still really happy. Everything was very easy thanks to a motivated and well-informed tour guide. Olga showed us the most beautiful places (also for photos). I would love to do more tours with Olga. Thank you @Olga. 5 stars for you!

Due to illness, we would not able to book our tickets in advance, so we have chosen last minute guided tour with headout. It was super, the guide was funny person, and worth to go through the park entertained with storys and jokes. I strongly recommend to buy guided tour ticket, especially, due to any reason normal tickets are not available for that day, you plan to visit.

The tour is fun, and the sound and light show on the roof and the se cava cup are very pleasant. However, the visitor groups are quite large: 40 people... A far cry from the 9 people you mention on your website. Please correct this information.

How to choose the best Hop-on Hop-off tour

While all Hop-on Hop-off operators in Barcelona ensure a comfortable and informative way to explore the city, the key differences lie in their routes, perks, sustainability efforts, and additional features. Here's a guide to help you decide which tour suits your travel style:

  • Premium Experience: Barcelona Bus Turístic stands out as a premium option. It offers you the most comprehensive route coverage across its Blue and Red routes. The inclusion of official tour guides on board, makes it an ideal tour for you if you appreciate added guidance, beyond pre-recorded commentary to provide live insights and answer your questions, and are willing to spend a little more for a top-tier experience.
  • Budget-Friendly: If you want to watch your expenses but are still eager to explore Barcelona’s key attractions, Barcelona City Tour offers excellent value. With 34 stops across its Green (East) and Orange (West) routes, it hits all the main landmarks, from the Sagrada Familia to Park Güell. It’s a reliable option that balances affordability with coverage, making it perfect if you want to stick to the essentials
  • Sustainability: If you’re an eco-conscious traveler, Barcelona City Tour leads the charge in sustainability. It was the first Spanish company to introduce 100% electric buses and continues to expand its hybrid fleet. By choosing this operator, you can explore Barcelona’s vibrant streets while reducing your carbon footprint.
  • Convenience and Tech Features: Barcelona City Tour buses arrive every 9-13 minutes, ensuring you spend more time exploring and less time waiting. On the other hand, Barcelona Bus Turístic varies between 5-25 minutes, depending on the season. Both operators offer mobile apps for added convenience—Barcelona City Tour’s app excels in real-time bus tracking, while Barcelona Bus Turístic’s app shines in route planning and ticket management.

Choose your Barcelona Hop-on Hop-off tour based on your preferences for route coverage, budget, and added perks. Whether you’re looking for a premium experience, eco-friendly travel, or a value-packed adventure, there’s an option to match your plans and make your time in Barcelona unforgettable!

Tips to make the best of your Hop-on Hop-off Barcelona tour

  • Barcelona’s most popular spots, like Sagrada Familia and Park Güell, can get packed quickly, especially in the morning. By hopping on the bus when it first starts, you'll avoid the rush and get prime seating.
  • Get a city card, like the Barcelona Card, if you want to visit multiple attractions. The card often includes access to the Hop-on Hop-off bus as well as discounts or free entry to places like the Picasso Museum or the famous Casa Batlló. It’s perfect if you’re planning to explore more than just the bus tour, as it saves money and streamlines your plans.
  • Combo tickets are a fantastic way to save money and time. They include exciting offers that combine the Hop-on Hop-off bus with entry to major attractions like the stunning Sagrada Familia or the iconic Camp Nou.
  • Dress appropriately for attractions with a dress code, especially churches like Sagrada Familia. Modest clothing is required—no flip-flops, short skirts, or bare shoulders.
  • Keep your bag light and simple for maximum comfort. Hop-on hop-off buses often have limited space for large bags, so it’s best to travel with a small bag that holds just the essentials—water, sunscreen, and your camera.

Frequently asked questions about Hop-on Hop-off Barcelona tour

What if it rains during my tour?

Don't worry, most of the Hop-on Hop-off buses in Barcelona are equipped with retractable roofs to keep you dry in case of rain. However, you might want to pack a small, foldable umbrella just in case, as the top deck may remain open for those who prefer a rainy-day view.

Can I bring my own food and drinks on the bus?

While bringing your own picnic basket might not be allowed, you can usually bring your own drinks to stay hydrated. Just remember to dispose of your trash responsibly when you hop off. This way, you can enjoy a refreshing sip while admiring the Sagrada Familia or Park Güell.

Are there discounts for children or seniors?

Yes, most hop-on hop-off tour operators offer discounted tickets for children and seniors. You can usually find information about age ranges and discount amounts on their websites or at ticket booths. This can make a family trip more affordable.

Can I get off the bus and explore an area, then catch the next bus later?

That's the beauty of the Hop-on Hop-off system! You can hop off at any stop, explore the area at your own pace, and then catch the next bus when you're ready to move on. You’re in control of your schedule. Just remember to check the bus schedule to make sure you don't have to wait too long for the next one, especially if you’re on the Barcelona Bus Turístic as they run every 5-25 minutes depending on the season and route.

Can I buy tickets directly from the bus driver?

While it's sometimes possible to buy tickets directly from the bus driver, it's usually recommended to purchase your tickets online or at designated ticket booths in advance. This ensures you have a spot on the bus, especially during peak season, and sometimes you can even score discounts for online bookings.

Are there audio guides for children?

Some Hop-on Hop-off tour operators in Barcelona may offer audio guides specifically designed for children. These guides often feature age-appropriate language and interesting stories to keep the little ones entertained and engaged. Be sure to check with the specific tour operator to see if they offer this option.

What are the peak hours for Hop-on Hop-off buses in Barcelona?

Peak hours for Hop-on Hop-off buses in Barcelona are usually mid-morning to early afternoon, especially during the tourist season. If you want to avoid the crowds and have a more comfortable experience, it’s a good idea to start your tour early in the morning or later in the afternoon.

Can I use my ticket to transfer between different routes?

Yes, your Hop-on Hop-off ticket allows you to transfer between different routes operated by the same company. For example, if you're using the Barcelona City Tour, you can switch between the Green (East) and Orange (West) routes. You can plan your itinerary to see all the parts of the city that interest you.

Can I use the Hop-on Hop-off bus as my primary mode of transportation in Barcelona?

While Hop-on Hop-off buses are a convenient way to see the sights and get around the city center, they may not be the most efficient option for every journey. If you need to get somewhere quickly, you might want to consider using the metro or other forms of public transportation. The hop-on hop-off bus is really best for leisurely sightseeing.
