Athens hop-on hop-off tour
Acropolis & Parthenon
It worked. I had a small issue with the booking code (my unfamiliarity wilth the App). I started a text inquiry and got a quick response. I then found the code. Everything went well after that.
The experience itself was ok. But I booked (via google ) a ticket for the akropolis MUSEUM. Then in the end it turned out to be a ticket for the Acropolis (where we already went to a couple of days before. Then I called Headout. They said they were not responsible for a refund, I should call key tours. (I had bought several tickets at key tours before so I thought they would help (for hundreds of euro's). Then Key tours said they were not responsible so I should get back to Head out. At Head out I got a number from Key tours in de UK and the USA. When I started calling I thought this would cost me a lot more money on telephone bills so I stopped. We decided then to go to the acropolis for a second time. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The visit itself was absolutely amazing. Getting the tickets on line that morning was easy but I had trouble getting the audio tour via the app. Nevertheless we were able to read a lot of information on the boards dotted around the site.
We arrived around 10 o'clock and it was not too dangerous, whether because when we rolled up the hill, eventually sat-sat ipo, there were a few tourists waiting for the hill... It is best to buy tickets online.

My experience at the Acropolis was good, I only point out that the audio guide was not for touring the Acropolis but for touring the Plaka neighborhood, in English (very close to the Acropolis). If you have time and know English I recommend it because it shows places that I would not have visited by my own means and it was useful because I did not take any tour. The experience to the temple of Poseidon was very good, as it was punctual, the bus that took us was well equipped (there was wifi and space to charge the phones) and we had audio guides for the tour to Cape Sounion.

Highly recommended and no defects! Everything went excellently. On this excursion we used the south gate as our entrance which was great because we were able to see the Dionysus Theater first and then the Acropolis. The excursion was really worth the money and I recommend using their service.
View original review in German
It was simple. The closing time of the Acropolis was not clear. When we arrived there we were informed that the Acropolis closed at 5:00 p.m., so having booked for 4:00 p.m. we had little time for a thorough visit.

My friends and I enjoyed the fact that we booked and entered by the time we reserved which makes easier to walk around and contemplate the sites. That was a good way to explore the area!
Since the negative aspects that we encounter on the Hop On Hop Off bus are not mentioned above, I would like to use this space to mention our 'not so favourable' issues. The audio on our bus was not at all good. It was as though the connection in our earphones was at fault, but on moving seats and getting new earbuds, we could tell that the fault was definitely in the sound system itself. Very crackly and very muffled. The seats on the bus were far too small for two people to sit on but the seats were very limited in number. We sat downstairs as the bus was full upstairs. With my husband and I in the seat, I was literally sitting with my bottom on the windowsill of the bus. Not very comfortable at all, and it resulted in me getting a nasty bruise on my thigh. We sat on the bus for about 4 stops until we decided to get off as I we were so uncomfortable. Some people from our group were actually forced to sit on a parcels shelf at the back of the bus, just so that they had somewhere to sit! We had the tickets for a two day pass but after less than a half day, we never got back on. This was the biggest disappointment and waste of money for our whole two weeks holiday. We did take advantage of the 10% discount on the Acropolis and Parthenon tickets and we thoroughly loved every bit of this self guided tour. I do not however, recommend this particular HOHO bus operator at all. Perhaps there are better ones, but it was a big expense and it did not live up to expectations at all.
It's practical for getting to the cruise port, but this company was the most disorganized, with the guides giving contradictory information. There were few buses to get back, which meant that we arrived at the boat very late.

Clear information was not given by drivers. Drivers were mostly not able to converse in English or not interested. Not professional enough for a tourist spot like Athens..
Re the audio guide, I bought Akropolis tickets, so expected Akropolis audio guide. Instead, it was the MUCH cheaper guide for sites I had visited already. Also, going first day of lower off-season prices was a mistake - many did the same so crowds were HUGE.
We went relatively early, before 09:00 hrs and until 10:00 hrs, we could walk around and admire the whole Acropolis without any inconvenience, then, after 10:00 hrs. the amount of people and agglomeration was such that we had to leave the place.

The hoho bus driver with sight seeing tours did not accept our vouchers and did not allow us on the bus. We missed the acropolipse tour . 20 min later a guide from another tour company explained to the same driver when he returned on his route that we should be allowed entry. However it was too late as we missed the last tour of the day. Fortunately we got there the next day and the skip the line tickets saved quite a bit of time.
Akropolis is great. The communication with headout was perfect. Especially the additional directions were great. Any time again!

When booking, I was told that the tickets would be sent to my email address. This was not the case, I had to download the Headout app. Very stupid, as I don't trust the app. And the ticket prices were far too expensive. On site, an adult ticket only costs €20.

My visit to Acropilis was amazing. I went by myself around 5pm. The views were absolutely breathtaking although it was a little crowded. Nonetheless, I got some great photos and people offered to take photos for me. However, I never received the audio equipment. When I arrived at the ticket window, someone pointed me in the directed to get my ticket scanned. I was never offered audio equipment.
We were really impressed by the acropolis. The walking routes were well laid out and the boards informative. Incredible restoration work has been done since I last saw the Parthenon 25 years ago! I would highly recommend visiting. Staff were also helpful and queues managed effectively.
The convenience of getting on and off any stations you like. Also the 2nd day free with 1 price. Love the views of Athens from the top levels on the Bus.
Correct logistical directions, consistent timing, beautiful day, Acropolis as the centerpiece of our civilization, experience I would repeat

Acropolis is unbeatable, a must in Athens. Completely smooth process, audio guide not clearly recognizable how it works, reference to original ticket confusing
View original review in German
I was disappointed in the audio content. There was hardly any historic facts shared. 80% of the ride was music playing.
Great experience to see this ancient wonder, we opted to visit the Akropolis first thing in the morning at 8am which was perfect as the crowds were still small the weather was nice but cool and after we finished exploring it was only 10am so plenty of time to do other things during the day, highly recommend and of course you can't be in Athens and don't visit Akropolis so you really don't have a choice but to do it! Well at least I believe so, it is worth it definitely as you can literally feel the energy when you are there.
Good morning, Sir or Madam, Thank you for conducting this satisfaction survey. Unless I'm mistaken, the ticket is sold as "Acropolis and Parthenon with audio guide". However, on my e-ticket, the audio guide to download was "Exploring PLAKA: the old town of Athens." I looked for the audio guide for the Acropolis, but it was not free. I continued my visit without an audio guide. The staff on site are professional and welcoming. Best regards, Imad

Congratulations to the lady who works at Parada Acropolis... EXCELLENT, very efficient and above all friendly. She helped me with the tickets, as Headout asked me for APP and did not send the tickets to show them.

That the bus gives you a good overview of the city of Athens. You can get on and off where the many sights are. Also, if you book for two days, you can choose the days and don't have to use them consecutively. You should be patient, because the traffic in Athens leads to many traffic jams. The bus service to the beaches was also good. Don't forget your swimsuit and towel.

We reached all the destinations we wanted to visit in Athens by bus. We bought tickets for 48 hours as we drove to the Piraeus port on the second day to take the ferry to the island of Paros. This saved us over 40 euros for a cab.

The buses are very pleasant and allow you to get on and off at every stop. Great for discovering the most important places to visit

Ticketing experience was great. All done on line. Agent was there to greet us. Bus tour was OK except for the traffic
Being able to move around the city and visit the points of interest! Not all buses have a canopy to protect you from the sun. Sun this is very necessary!!!

It was everything nice except the audio guide on the bus: it didn't work very well and the code for the audio guide I received with acropoli's tickets was wrong.....I had to call keytours and the gave me the right one.
Its worth it and without any doubt get the ticket and enjoy your day. It's valid for two days and you can access multiple times... Mostly recommended for solo travellers...
Convenient and easy to have advance tickets for the hop on bus tours. Visited the beach with this, a comfortable ride on the open bus.

I bought my tickets online and redeemed them at the bus. Getting on and off the bus to see the stops we wanted was easy, and the route was scenic. We loved sitting on the top level and enjoying the breeze while we took in the sires of Athens.
Friendly staff, pleasant routes but not always crystal clear and, only the last route, with inoperable earpiece by all Italian passengers because language key did not work.

The trip to Piraeus was an experience to see Piraeus and the beaches and the port Athens is beautiful and there is something to see good and nice people
We enjoyed the tour immensely and had no problems once we got there. However, we had to spend $34 on taxi fare to go there and back because we were told our bus tickets were not good.
1. The bus did not arrived frequently enough, instead of 15 minutes it was more like every 30 minutes. 2. The last bus is too early 3. Other than that the airconditioning in the bus was very bad
Molto scorretti
The explanations of the audio guide were not very good (little explanation) and the audio was very low. The stops are not well signposted according to the map provided and many of them lack a signpost. I also recommend that in the tour that goes to the coast add more stops as there are very few.

Maximum flexibility, this service allows you to hop on and off at will at different stops. Audio guide in several languages very helpful. Buses a bit crowded but the 15-minute wait times between rides were met. Recommended experience

It was one of the best way to explore the city of Athens. The audio guide was good. But the buses end earlier than the provided time. I wish I could enjoy a bit more. Specially the beach line.
I didn't see anything on my emails indicating I was to look for the blue bus line. Fortunately the lady on the red bus line pointed me in the right direction. Apart from that it was great getting 2 days of use. We used the first day to get an overall look then k ew where we wanted to go on the second day
View and landscapes were very beautiful, the bus arrive in the points on time, the google maps whit a route maps is very helpfull, but may audio did not work, it was always reseted all the time turnning language channel to 01 again. The air conditioner did not work in the first floor of bus and the Beach tour was 1:30 waiting.

Route name: Orange line
If you are spending just one day in Athens, consider a combination of the Orange and Yellow Lines.
If you have two days to explore Athens, make sure to take all four routes of the Sights of Athens hop-on hop-off tour to make the most out of your trip. Here is a possible itinerary that incorporates all four routes:
Day 1 - Orange and Blue Lines: Your tour will begin at Syntagma Square, Old Parliament, as you catch the bus towards the Acropolis Parthenon. After your stroll through the Acropolis, shift to the Blue Line for the Piraeus Cruise, which includes a visit to the planetarium, a close view of the Temple of Poseidon, and a few extra stops. You can get back to the Orange Line at the Acropolis to continue your tour of the city and its attractions. The Old Town of Plaka, which lies close to the Acropolis, is home to several local-run taverns that offer Greek delicacies such as Keftedes (Greek-style meatballs) and Tzatziki (a cucumber-garlic dip).
Day 2 - Yellow and Green Lines: Your second day in Athens is meant to be a beachside getaway! You can take the bus from the Acropolis Parthenon to Glyfada. Experience the serene beauty of the Glyfada and Kosmas beach sides, before you get down. You can either continue on the Yellow Line or take a break here and shift to the Green Line, which is a brief, 20-minute detour that takes you toward some of the less-known beaches in Athens, including Astir Beach and Vouliagmeni Lake. Following the detour, you can get back on the Yellow Line and finish your trip through the city of Athens, before you are dropped off at the starting point.
Yes, the tour is meant to be flexible. You can hop on and off at any location mentioned in the tour itinerary and even explore the city on your own.
Your Sights of Athens tour tickets usually grant you access to all the bus routes or lines, allowing you to hop on and off at any of the available stops and even change your lines midway through the tour. Additionally, you will have access to free Wi-Fi and a map of the city onboard, multilingual audio guides, and complimentary headsets for your guide.
The Sights of Athens buses are available at regular intervals depending on the route you prefer. You can find detailed information, stops, and timetables for the bus routes here.
When visiting Athens' historical sites, dress comfortably yet respectfully, especially at religious locations. Avoid loud conversations or disruptive behavior, check photography rules, and respect boundaries to help preserve these culturally significant places.
Yes, multilingual audio guides are available in Spanish, Turkish, Chinese, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Arabic, Portuguese and Russian.
The best time to visit Athens is in spring (March to May) or fall (September to November) for mild weather and fewer crowds. However, fall is better preferred if you want to explore the city and the beaches.
The Green Line offers a quieter, more relaxed experience, taking you to lesser-known beaches like Astir Beach and Vouliagmeni Lake, away from the main city crowds.
